Flogging Molly • Float
Flogging Molly’s latest album, Float, recorded in Dave King’s (lead vocals) native Ireland, showcases another stage of the bands sonic evolution. More mature yet retaining the immediacy that marks all of their work, Float may find the widest audience acceptance of any Flogging Molly album. Hard charging tunes “Paddy’s Lament” and “You Won’t Make a Fool Out of Me” give way, as listeners have come to expect, to more sober ruminations on tracks like “Float.” These are sounds directed at the heart of a bar scene, pulling from traditional Irish and punk rock roots.
Tech Tips
Exterminate the Buzz in your Auxiliary Audio sources
In many instances, locations will need to have external audio sources routed through the jukebox sound system. Often, this causes an irritating buzz or hum that disappears when the input is disconnected from the jukebox but reappears when re-connected. To avoid this distortion, use of a shielded cable for the transmission of line level audio is a requirement. Also, it is very important to use a “ground loop isolator”. This device is placed inline with the audio signals and breaks the ground loops that can exist when audio components are connected to differing power circuits and grounding points. “Ground Loop Isolators” can be found at local audio supply centers for less than $20.00.
