Flogging Molly • Float

Flogging Molly’s latest album, Float, recorded in Dave King’s (lead vocals) native Ireland, showcases another stage of the bands sonic evolution. More mature yet retaining the immediacy that marks all of their work, Float may find the widest audience acceptance of any Flogging Molly album. Hard charging tunes “Paddy’s Lament” and “You Won’t Make a Fool Out of Me” give way, as listeners have come to expect, to more sober ruminations on tracks like “Float.” These are sounds directed at the heart of a bar scene, pulling from traditional Irish and punk rock roots.

Tech Tips

Exterminate the Buzz in your Auxiliary Audio sources

In many instances, locations will need to have external audio sources routed through the jukebox sound system. Often, this causes an irritating buzz or hum that disappears when the input is disconnected from the jukebox but reappears when re-connected. To avoid this distortion, use of a shielded cable for the transmission of line level audio is a requirement. Also, it is very important to use a “ground loop isolator”. This device is placed inline with the audio signals and breaks the ground loops that can exist when audio components are connected to differing power circuits and grounding points. “Ground Loop Isolators” can be found at local audio supply centers for less than $20.00.

AMI New Music for July 1, 2009

July 1st, 2009

Welcome to July,

So, as you know, the ‘King of Pop’, Michael Jackson, died this past week on the eve of what was supposed to be his curtain-call of live dates in the U.K. Damn…it would have been nice if he could have had his last hurrah. That said though, we here at AMI have seen a spike in his song-plays that goes out-of-this world over this past weekend! A true testament to what his legacy really means to music fans. We have our own tribute video playing on the jukeboxes, and some of his best albums are highlighted on our ops page.

We are also running a promotion currently for the new Rob Thomas album, where fans have a chance to win signed copies of his latest album. Thanks to the good folx @ Warner, and for Rob’s ability to use a Sharpie for this one. Also…look for new ones by Modest Mouse, Janis Joplin, Santana, Bad Company, Brad Paisley, Bebe, Jay-Z, Albert Zamora and many others this week.

Enjoy!

New Releases

December 15th, 2008

Hello Faithful….I wonder what Barack Obama has on his Ipod?? Any guesses? I was thinking about this, this morning, and was quite impressed with what he had to say a little while back in Rolling Stone…

“If I had one musical hero, it would have to be Stevie Wonder,” says Obama, who grew up on Seventies R&B and rock staples including Earth, Wind and Fire, Elton John and the Rolling Stones. “When I was at that point where you start getting involved in music, Stevie had that run with Music of My Mind, Talking Book, Fulfillingness’ First Finale and Innervisions, and then Songs in the Key of Life. Those are as brilliant a set of five albums as we’ve ever seen.

Welcome Led Zeppelin…Welcome.

September 18th, 2008

The Hammer of the Gods is now currently striking music lovers directly in the eardrums, soul, and heart, everywhere there is an AMI jukebox. The Mothership has landed so-to-speak. The Levee is currently Breaking. “Oooooh Baby Baby” is being heard in joints across the map, and that’s the way it should always be. The primal sounds of Zeppelin, arguably the band who kicks you directly in the gut with most ease. The quartet had the thump, the monster riffs to topple buildings, the bushy hair, the grit, the scream, the tight pants, the able bass player, the blues, the metal, the groupies, the sought-after merchandise, the live shows….kapow! Zeppelin is an essential jukebox band. Read more …

The Verve Return

September 8th, 2008

This is a big, beautiful rock band of epic proportions. Rock and Roll didn’t feel right without them in the mix after their break-up. Urban Hymns is a staple of the jukebox network, and Forth traces all their classic angles. Read more …
