AMI announced a new music contest to for an incredible Colt Ford giveaway. The grand prize winner will get 2 Colt Ford concerts tickets along with a VIP meet & greet on the Country Rapper’s tour bus. The contest is open now through July 10, 2019. Music fans can enter the contest using the AMI Music app, available on iOS and Android. Contest entry is also available on any participating AMI jukebox.
Colt Ford is known as a “Country Rap” artist, blending Country Music with Hip-Hop style rapping, along with some R&B and Alternative Rock elements. This ability to cross genres comes from his background and upbringing. He grew up listening to Country and Hip-Hop, along with R&B. Professionally, his songwriting ability earned interest from Country and Hip-Hop artists alike. He possesses a style of sly, thoughtful and multi-layered songwriting. The Georgia-native also boasts a strong recording background, having been a drummer on a number of recordings. Prior to his music career, he spent time as a professional golfer.
Ford has been writing and producing music for years. Even before his 2008 debut album Riding Through the Country, Ford was an accomplished songwriter. He earned co-writing credits with artists like Jeremy Popoff, Jamey Johnson, and the Alt Rock band Lit. Rappers Bone Crusher and Jermaine Dupri also tapped Ford for his songwriting ability. It was this experience that let him explore his urban side of songwriting and music production. In 2006, he wrote “Buck ‘Em,” the theme for the Professional Bull Riders, Inc.
Ford’s knowledge of the music industry also helped him as business man. He co-founded his own record label, Average Joe Entertainment, which released his debut album. He followed his debut album up with Chicken and Biscuits in 2010, which reached #8 on Top Country Albums. In 2011, he released his third album, Every Chance I Get, which got to #3 on the Country Albums chart. His next album, 2012’s Declaration of Independence, became his first #1 Country album and featured his highest charting single, “Back,” a duet with Jake Owen.
Ford’s fifth studio album, Thanks for Listening (2014), debuted at #1 on the Top Rap Albums chart, making him the first artist in history to have a number one album on both Top Country and Top Rap charts. This important milestone not only helped establish him as a top artist in both genres, but it helped legitimize the genre of “Country Rap.” His sixth and most recent studio album, 2017’s Love Hope Faith, became his fifth Top 10 album on the Country Chart.
In May of 2019, he released the single “We The People,” a call to unity in times of political division. The new release is a potential precursor to a new LP, rumored to be out in Fall of 2019. Colt Ford is also touring currently. His live shows are known for high-powered entertainment, elaborate artistry and undeniable talent.
