Guitarist and keyboardist Dan Donegan, along with drummer Mike Wengren joined forces in 1994, with the idea of starting a band. After some initial shakeups and lineup changes, singer David Draiman joined in 1996 and suggested Disturbed as a name based on how he and his bandmates were feeling at the time.

Their first album—The Sickness, was released in 2000 and would go on to become certified Platinum five times over by the Recording Industry Association of America. After such a successful debut, the band toured relentlessly, recorded regularly, and welcomed a new bass player and backup vocalist (John Moyer, who joined in 2004). The band went into an announced hiatus in 2011, while continuing to put out unreleased music. Four years later, in June of 2015, Disturbed returned with an album announcement (Immortalized) and music video for “The Vengeful One.”

It was September 2022 when the band announced that their eighth studio album—Divisive (released November 18, 2022), would be a “return to their heavier sound.” It would also be the first to feature a guest singer—Heart’s Ann Wilson provided vocals on the ballad “Don’t Tell Me.” The album continues to sell, and the band has just wrapped the first leg of their “Take Back Your Life” tour. Next stop: Europe for a string of festivals and headlining stops before returning to the States in July to finish out their tour and finish out the summer crisscrossing the country. Said Draiman in a recent interview with Blabbermouth.net: “I love — we love — that one of the most unifying experiences that you can participate in in this world is going to a concert, going to a live performance and everybody, no matter what walk of life you come from and no matter how rich or poor you may be and no matter where your politics may lie, you share a common unified love of the art that you’re witnessing.”

AMI recognizes Disturbed’s success in selling over 17 million albums worldwide and offers this giveaway to all fans. For a limited time, AMI jukeboxes will also be featuring a Disturbed playlist that highlights their biggest hits throughout the years.
