He is considered by many to be one of the all-time great musical artists. The new box set An American Treasure pays homage to his remarkable career. His wife, Dana Petty, and daughter, Adria Petty, are executive producers on the box set and were the primary catalysts for its development. Two Heartbreakers, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench, curated the track list, along with Petty’s studio collaborator Ryan Ulyate.

Petty also produced three solo albums, Full Moon River in 1989, Wildflowers in 1994, and Highway Companion in 2006.
