Stone Temple Pilots are hitting the road this summer for a cross-country tour, and one lucky winner will get a pair of tickets to the tour stop of their choice between August 10, 2024 and October 5, 2024. Everyone can enter using the AMI Music app available on iOS and Android, or on any participating AMI Jukebox.

Stone Temple Pilots (STP) emerged from the grunge and alternative rock scene of early 1990s San Diego. The band was originally composed of Scott Weiland (vocals), brothers Dean DeLeo (guitar) and Robert DeLeo (bass), and Eric Kretz (drums). They quickly gained popularity with their debut album, Core, released in 1992. The album featured hit singles such as “Plush,” “Creep,” and “Sex Type Thing,” which helped propel the band to mainstream success. STP distinguished themselves with a diverse sound that blended hard rock, psychedelic rock, and alternative elements.

Throughout the 1990s, Stone Temple Pilots continued to enjoy commercial success with subsequent albums, including Purple (1994), Tiny Music… Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop (1996), and No. 4 (1999). However, the band’s journey was marked by turbulence, particularly due to Weiland’s struggles with substance abuse, which led to multiple hiatuses and internal conflicts. Despite these challenges, the band remained a significant force in the rock scene, evolving their sound over the years. After Weiland’s departure in 2013 and his subsequent passing in 2015, STP recruited new lead singers, including Chester Bennington of Linkin Park for a brief period and later Jeff Gutt. The band has continued to record and play live, setting out this summer for festival appearances and a string of dates on their co-headlining Jubilee tour with Live and special guests Soul Asylum and Our Lady Peace.

AMI is happy to present the chance to win a pair of tickets to see STP celebrate 30 years of their album Purple, and play it live in its entirety. For a limited time, AMI jukeboxes will also be featuring a playlist of the band’s greatest hits. All fans are encouraged to check out the playlist and US residents aged 18+ may enter the giveaway using the AMI Music app or by visiting an AMI jukebox venue.
