UI Version 5 FAQ
Customized UI Display – Jukebox Version 5.0 FAQ
Are these options available on all AMI digital jukeboxes?
No. US Version 5.0 is only available on jukeboxes running Windows 10 software. If your jukebox is still running XP, you can upgrade to Windows 10. Please contact your Inside Sales Rep for details.
What customization options are available?
When the Hot Here menu is displayed, you have the ability to add your venue name and a photo (i.e. interior or exterior venue photo), as well as playlists created by your venue’s staff (Staff Favorites). The venue name will also be displayed on the search screen (i.e. Welcome to AMI Brew Pub). A video tutorial is available here.
If I don’t choose to use these options, will a venue name and photo be displayed on my jukebox?
AMI has created a default image that will be used on all AMI jukebox “Hot Here” menus. Your default venue name will be how your venue is listed in the AMI Music app.
Can operators and location staff utilize these features?
Yes. While this feature is intended for location staff to use, operators also have the ability to manage these options. Please note that any venue staff that have a Co-Pilot login will be able to manage these features for their dedicated venue.
If I create my own “Staff Favorites” playlist, can one of my co-workers edit it or delete it?
Yes. Any staff member that has a Co-Pilot login has the ability to edit all playlists attached to that particular venue. Here is a video tutorial on editing playlists.
Are Staff Favorites playlists available on the AMI Music app?
As of October 2022, Staff Favorites playlists are not available on the AMI Music app, but will be in 2023.
How many “Staff Favorites” playlists can be shared to a jukebox at one time?
14 playlists can be shared to your jukebox at once. There is no limit on the total number of playlists that can be created, but only 14 can be active/shared on your jukebox at one time. Playlists not shared to a jukebox are considered inactive. Here is a video tutorial on sharing playlists to your jukebox.
Is there a limit on how many playlists each staff member can create?
No. Staff members can create as many playlists as they’d like. But please note that only 14 total playlists can be shared on a jukebox at one time.
Is there a limit on the number of songs that can be included in an individual playlist?
No, there is no maximum on the number of songs you can include in each individual playlist, but a playlist must have at least 5 songs in order to be shared to the jukebox. If a song in your playlist is removed from the AMI network due to label/publisher changes, and your “active” playlist drops below 5 songs, your playlist will become “inactive” and will no longer be shared to your jukebox. You can edit the playlist under the “All Playlists” section of Staff Favorites. A video tutorial on creating playlists is available here.
Can I add a custom cover photo for a Staff Favorites playlist?
Yes, you will be prompted to select a photo for the playlist when it is created. You can either take a photo with your phone’s camera, or select from your phone by allowing access to the photo library.
Can I change the cover photo on an existing Staff Favorites playlist?
Yes. Simply access the playlist, tap the “More” icon (gold circle with three dots) in the upper right corner, and select Edit Playlist Artwork. Here you can either take a photo with your phone’s camera, or select from your phone by allowing access to the photo library.
What file requirements or specifications are required for the venue photo and Staff Favorites photo?
Your phone handles uploading the photos so you don’t have to follow specific guidelines. The venue photo will be cropped to fit a square and the Staff Favorites playlist photo will be cropped and placed in a circle.
Can I change the venue name and photo after I’ve saved the information?
Yes. Venue names and photos can be changed at any time. A tutorial is available here.
Will a playlist be deleted if a location never shared it to the jukebox?
No. Playlists will remain in the “All Playlists” section of Staff Favorites until is it manually deleted by venue staff.
